Our Vision

Led by founder/artistic director Rick Miller and President Jeff Lord, WYRD Productions is an independent Canadian theatre company that has developed and disseminated multidisciplinary stage productions since 1995. Our shows have toured all over the world, pushing the boundaries of storytelling and performance, and bridging avant-garde sensibilities with mass audience appeal.

In 30 years, WYRD has built an international network of producing and presenting partners, allowing our productions to evolve and adapt over long touring lives. Our vision is to create unique, unforgettable theatrical experiences that address today’s most pressing issues with heart, humour, and playful creativity.

Artistic Director

Rick Miller is a Dora and Gemini award-winning writer, director, performer, musician, and educator, and the creative force behind WYRD Productions. He has performed on five continents and in six languages, and Entertainment Weekly has called him “one of the 100 most creative people alive today.”

Rick is recognized as a leader in Canadian theatre, but his work extends far beyond the stage. Through innovative outreach and community engagement, his work aims to deepen conversations with audiences, partner organizations and cultural institutions. Rick is also a committed educator and mentor of new talent, hoping to inspire the next generation of cultural innovators.
